Dorset Solicitors Steele Raymond showcases support for Startup Grind Bournemouth

30/04/2019

Leading commercial law firm Steele Raymond has announced its support of Startup Grind Bournemouth as part of its commitment to nurturing young and startup businesses.

Startup Grind is the largest independent startup community, actively educating, inspiring and connecting more than 1,500,000 entrepreneurs in over 500 local groups globally.

With over 500 members Startup Grind Bournemouth supports local regional businesses by hosting monthly events featuring successful local founders, innovators, educators and investors who share lessons learned on the road to building great company businesses.

Steele Raymond actively champions the region’s entrepreneurs, start-ups and digital and creative hubs across the south coast by hosting and supporting key events, working with key players, and bringing people and ideas together.

Regional Director for Startup Grind Bournemouth Marcus Wincott said:

“It’s fantastic to have a business as reputable and well respected as Steele Raymond on board as our main local sponsor. For almost 40 years, they have been genuinely anchored in the local community, working closely with businesses and public organisations alike to help Bournemouth thrive, and I’m delighted that we’re now part of that. The shared mission of Startup Grind Bournemouth and Steele Raymond of assisting the local business community makes this relationship a perfect fit and an exciting one for me.”

The monthly events regularly host some of the regions stand-out business leaders all geared to inspiring business owners on their journey. Past speakers include Christchurch-based Jimmy’s Iced Coffee founder Jim Cregan, Gamebrain  CEO Mike Hawkyard and serial investor James Benamor.

Commercial solicitor at Steele Raymond Shaun Guppy said: “I consistently work with startup businesses and SMEs so see the increased challenges faced by business owners on a daily basis. Running a business can at times be lonely, so communities such as Startup Grind really do help support and inspire by showcasing business leaders who have been through the same challenges they are facing and come out the other side.”

Marcus continued:

“We’re just about to host our ninth event since coming back from a short hiatus and that time has flown by. We’ve partnered with some brilliant local businesses to offer a better event for the ever-growing startup ecosystem in the region. We’ve had some incredible speakers come along and help educate and inspire our community of entrepreneurs, but for me, we’ve only just started. I’ve got plenty planned for the coming months and years, from alternative funding routes to finance technology, and from healthcare technology to online subscription models, we’ve got a long list of topics we’ll be covering, and I’m really excited about the future of Startup Grind here in Bournemouth.”
