Our work in the community

We recognise that a leading law firm has to do more than simply provide first class legal services.  It needs to work with and support its local community.

Steele Raymond has always had very strong links with a variety of different community organisations including local community centres/projects.  We have also for many years supported a local music trust which makes annual awards to advance education in music.

We have provided pro-bono advice to a number of charities. We also provide talks on topical areas of law to local community groups.

A number of our partners give freely of their time acting as volunteers in schools and charitable organisations.  For example, we have number of school governors in both the maintained and independent schools sectors.  One of our partners is a trustee of Julia’s House, the Dorset children’s hospice.  We have also acted as honorary solicitors to a number of chamber organisations, including the Dorset Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

We support Bournemouth University in a variety of ways including employing students on a 40 week work placement programme as part of their undergraduate legal studies.  We also give lectures, mock interviews and careers advice to students in schools and university.
