We act for the trustees of self invested personal pension schemes (SIPPs) and small self administered schemes (SSASs) in relation to their commercial property investments. We have very considerable experience in this area having worked in pension property investment since the introduction of commercial property investment by SIPP and SSAS schemes. We use that experience to find solutions to problems that may make a pension property transaction more complicated.
Frequently we develop a close relationship with the scheme beneficiary. There can be a perception that proceeding in a property transaction via a SIPP or SSAS may cause delay. Our experience allows us to ensure that the transaction is not unnecessarily delayed by the SIPP or SSAS scheme’s involvement. We are keen to become involved in any potential property transaction at the early stages and are often able to commence work on a transaction in advance of receiving formal instructions from the scheme's trustees.
